I am *terrible* about letting things spiral into much longer works than I intend, so I sympathize deeply with the realization that to get what I want out of a story it's got to be longer than I'd planned for.

I'm still excited for your fic! And I love that you're fleshing Sypha's backstory out more. It does seem like the show sort of sidelined the "Speaker" part of her backstory in favor of just "Mage." I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
