WIP report: 18 May 2021

Delayed post for last week; Hades on the Switch happened over the weekend. OTL I ought to schedule time for breaks -- I work best in bursts with frequent breaks, whether it's writing or otherwise -- but it's hard to break the habit of stubbornly trying to push through even when I'm stuck.

Speaking of getting stuck, I've put the Buddha Cafe fanfic on hold for now; I still haven't resolved the issues I mentioned in a previous post, and I've already gotten started on other things. I'm guessing my ideas for this story are still too raw and might need some time to gel/ferment in the back of my head before I revisit them.

As for the other things I've started, it's more like I've cycled back to working on an older WIP. I came up with the Omegaverse Levi x f!Eren plotbunny a few years ago; it started as an attempt at writing a fluffy Regency-esque story that quickly melded with my ideas for Levi as an omega. It's gone through a number of unfinished drafts and one setting overhaul -- it's currently in a modern AU, which has been easier for me to work with. I started doing the 21 Days to a Novel exercises for it last week, and I hope to have it fully fleshed out soon. (Fingers crossed that I'll actually get the characterization and worldbuilding done within the next two weeks.)

I've absolutely had to do similar things, where I put an idea on hold while it sorts itself out in the back of my mind.

But I hope the one you're working on again goes well!

Thanks! I've had multiple cycles of working on something then setting it aside for a while before getting back to it again, so it's a familiar feeling, though I kinda wish I could finish things sooner rather than later. ^^;;

Me too! I struggle a lot with wishing I could finish things more quickly... I have so many ideas that I'll never be able to complete, just because I simply don't have the time! But I also feel like some things just work themselves out at their own pace, and letting things sit on the back burner until they're ready is often the best thing for them.
